Children’s Charities Association 2011 - 26 November 2011

Zen Taekwondo Club is partnering the Children’s Charities Association on their annual Christmas Fair 2011.



You may also help by buying their CCA Christmas Fair coupons at $10 each (sample coupon as below)*. The coupons can be used to exchange food, handicraft and games at any event stall. Please approach Girlene Mdm if you would like to purchase the coupon.

Hair for Hope (Children’s Cancer Foundation)

Objectives of Hair for Hope (HfH)
Through this symbolic gesture, Children’s Cancer Foundation aims to:

1. Create awareness of childhood cancer in Singapore.
2. Show children with cancer and their families that they are not alone in their fight against cancer.
3. Tell children with cancer that it is OK to be bald.
4. Raise funds to help children with cancer and their families.
5. Build a community of support for children with cancer and their families.

Japan disaster fund raising

The above link shows that Red Cross has been in touch with the JRCS and IFRC and is monitoring the situation closely and identifying the assistance required.

The Singapore Red Cross is also accepting monetary donations towards this disaster. Donors may do so with the following:

Cash Donation :
For walk-in donations, the SRC is open during the hours:Mondays to Fridays 9.30am-9pm, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays 9.30am – 6pm.

Cheque Donation:
Cheques to be made payable to the “Singapore Red Cross Society” At the back of the cheque, please indicate:
i) Name
ii) IC/Passport No.
iii) Address and Contact Number
iv) “Japan Disaster 2011”

SMS Donation
Donors may donate via their mobile phones to 75772. For every sms, S$50 will be donated to the “Japan Disaster” fund.

Local News : Volunteers Required for SADeaf Flag Day - 16Mar2011

The Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf) has been serving the Deaf Community for the past 55 years. In line with their mission to assist the Deaf achieve a better quality of life, integrate and contribute to society, they have been providing a range of services to the 5,600 clients they have. The services they offered include:
· Education,
· Tuition,
· discount for purchase of hearing aids and assistive devices,
· guidance and counseling,
· interpretation,
· social care,
· financial assistance to the needy and
· job support.
SADeaf is having a Flag Day on Wednesday 16 March 2011 to raise funds to reach out and serve those in need in the Deaf Community. The collection centers for the event are as follows.
SADeaf (227 Mountbatten Road),
Bugis Junction,
Tampines Regional Library,
Sengkang Community Centre,
Woodlands Regional Library and
Jurong Point Shopping Centre.
All taekwondo members are encouraged to support the cause by serving as volunteers. Those who are interested in helping out but cannot do the full day from 9.00am to 6pm may offer their services within the duration they are available – for example, 9.00am to 1pm or 10.00am to 3.00pm.
