NYP TKD Club Crawl 2010 - a big success!






This year, NYP's Club Crawl common objective is "HAPPINESS".

Some of us suffered some injuries, in one way or the other, we picked ourselves, continue the rest of the performance to the best of our abilities. Mdms and Sirs are SOOOOOOOOO proud of you. Bravo! See you training tonight!

"To my NYP, once again well done for the performance...especially to aerobics wonder-girls as they scrificed their sundays for countless weekends and took leave for this event...not to forget our background supporters, Wee yong and Michelle (pls let me know if i miss anyone out). This year, we've got 140 people registered from the Club Crawl. WELL DONE! Our next mission is to keep as many new blood as possible to stay with us. NYP GIVE MOTIVIATION!!!!!!!

Courses / Seminars : Unarmed Combat Course for Poom Belts and Blackbelts

An Unarmed Combat (Level 1) Course will be conducted on 8, 9, 15 and 16 May 2010 for poom belts and black belts.

Successful participants in the course will be exempted from the self-defence component required for their 1st to 2nd poom or dan promotion.


The certification received from the course will be a prerequisite for taekwondo exponents to move on to Levels 2 and 3.

15 April 2010 is ZEN's 7th year anniversary. This year, Brian Sir chose to celebrate in Zone 3 which was Zen's first class started out.

8 April 2010 - Zen Martial Arts conducted 3rd Self defence course at VJC

32 female participants signed for the Zen's 3rd self defence beginner course. We brought along 3 other assistant instructors this time.

Most of them feedback to join the intermediate course, where available. All think that the course was relevant, easy to learn and interactive! In all instructors' opinions, VJC students are smart and quick-learners!

Tournaments : Family Event Introduced in Poomsae Championships 22/23May 2010

The National Poomsae Championships 2010 scheduled to be held on 22 and 23 May 2010 will include a family event.

This is to provide opportunities for taekwondo families to compete and enjoy the family bonding while training for the competition.

For this competition, 1st dan and higher participants are required to know more poomsae. This new requirement will make the competition for this category more interesting and provide greater challenge for the participants.

Please pass the fees and completed forms to Brian Sir by 23 April.

Registration
- By 5.00pm on Friday 7 May 2010 at the STF Secretariat
Competition
- 22 May 2010 (Saturday) and 23 May 2010 (Sunday) at 9.00am at Bedok Sports Hall*
*The dates and venue for the competition is tentative as the Singapore Sports Council is unable to confirm the availability of the venue.


- Individual (By alphabetical order of the names of the participants)
- Pair/Team/Family (By alphabetical order of the names of the Clubs)
For the pair and team events, only 1 pair and 1 team are allowed for each division and category.
(In case of more than one pair or team, an internal ZEN TKD selection may be conducted)


There are 7 divisions – A (4 & 6 years old),
B (7 to 9 years old),
C (10 to 12 years old),
D (13 to 15 years old),
E (16 to 20 years old),
F (21 to 30 years old) and
G (31 years old and older)


Dan - 1st and higher (**Koryo/Keumgang/Taebaek)
Poom - 1st and higher (Koryo)
Red (BT) - Grade 1
Red - Grade 2
Blue (RT) - Grade 3
Blue - Grade 4
Green (BT) - Grade 5
Green - Grade 6
Yellow (GT) - Grade 7
Yellow - Grade 8
White (YT) - Grade 9
(Based on highest grade obtained on or before the April 2010 grading.)


$30 per team
$30 per family group
$20 per pair
$10 per individual

Medals will be awarded to eight finalists according to positions.

Courses / Seminars : Taekwondo Coaching Course (Level 1)

J H Kim Taekwondo Institute will be hosting a Taekwondo Coaching Course (Level 1) conducted by the Singapore Taekwondo Federation.

The primary objective of the course is to provide basic knowledge of coaching taekwondo skills.

On completing the course, participants will be able to organize practice sessions which are safe and challenging for taekwondo athletes.

Please pass $110 & completed form to Brian Sir for endorsement by Friday 23 April 2010.

Practical Attachment: All successful participants will be required to
complete 6 months (twice a week) or 12 months
(once a week) of coaching attachment. Trainee
coaches can have their choice of schools or clubs
approved by the STF for their attachment.
